CPS Makes it Possible for Student Living in Hospital to Go to School

Manny We are so proud of our
Cincinnati Public Schools’ team and its work to assure that Manny Evans, 7, goes
to school (Enquirer story, March 14, 2010) each day while the kindergartner lives at Cincinnati
Children’s Hospital Medical Center
. Our Department of Student Services' lead psychologist Kathy Bower
initiated the idea to the hospital’s staff that Manny could attend
school and followed through with a huge collaboration among our transportation
office (Terry Powell-Bivens), Roselawn Condon School (Julie Hall and Robin Kramer),
Human Resources (Carol Landwehr) and the staff at Children's Hospital to make it happen. This was
uncharted territory that took collaboration to accomplish and was a touching experience
for all involved.
