Veteran astronaut Mike Foreman visited Fifth Quarter students at Pleasant Hill Academy and Ethel M. Taylor Academy, as well as those in Project Connect's summer program, on Friday, June 25, 2010, as part of NASA's Summer of Innovation Program designed to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). As part of his visit, Foreman participated in "Movin' in the Morning," a program that helps keep Project Connect's 70 summer students in shape through morning exercises. After completing the exercises, Foreman headed to Pleasant Hill to talk to 225 students about his experiences in space. He completed his visit with a stop at Taylor Academy to talk to another 150 students. The students all enjoyed hearing about his career pathway to outer space.
