Aiken Seniors Selected for College Honors Programs

Submitted by Karen Barrett, Schoo/Community Coordinator

Students at Aiken College and Career High School are encouraged, every day, to focus on life after high school and to see college as a reality and not as an elusive idea for "someday." Our freshmen and sophomores visit several colleges and enjoy meeting recruiters who whet their appetities for study after graduation. Our juniors and seniors are challenged to decide on their career focus and the colleges and universities best suited to their personal dynamics. This dimension of Aiken's academic program produces seniors who are mature and ready for the next step in their academic future.

Seven such students have been selected to attend Honors Programs at Ohio universities to be challenged to pursue such programs in college. The Honors Programs were highly competitive, and we are proud to announce the following attendees:

Ohio University – Athens, Ohio                 Miami University – Oxford, Ohio

Diamond M.                                            Jacquayla B.

Markel M.                                               Shawnice B.

Kenya T.                                                 Angel M.

                                                              Sheyante R.

Congratulations to these scholars! We appreciate them for representing Aiken College and Career.
