Western Hills Expands After-School Programs with New Grant

Western Hills University High School (WHUHS) is the first high school in the Cincinnati Public School District to earn a 21st Century Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be used to expand after-school programs and encourage more students to stay engaged at the school.

Participating students will take part in mandatory study sessions and will receive healthy snacks from the Freestore Foodbank. The funding will bring past and current after-school programs under its wing, including Teacher's Help Night, OGT Club, College Access, Young Ambassadors and Key Club. Additional programs include Closing the Health Gap, Choir, Biggest Loser, Healthy Cooking and Poetry Club.

Project GRAD, the school's lead partner, will manage the programs for WHUHS.
