Dr. Jane Goodall, world renowned primatologist and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, stopped by the Zoo Academy to talk to students in her Roots and Shoots program. The students discussed their own projects for improving our diverse communities in Cincinnati.
The Roots and Shoots program aims to help students:
- Implement positive change through active learning about, caring for and interacting with the environment.
- Demonstrate care and concern for all animals.
- Enhance understanding among individuals of different cultures, ethnic groups, religions, socio-economic levels and nations through a global communications network.
- Develop self-respect, confidence in themselves and hope for the future.
