Taft Elementary Wins 2010-11 Learning is Cool Program

Congratulations to William H. Taft Elementary for winning the 2010-11 Learning is Cool Program presented by the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. Learning is Cool provides quarterly rewards to students in Cincinnati Public Schools who make the A Honor Roll. Those who make the A Honor Roll twice are invited to special events with Coach Marvin Lewis and members of the Cincinnati Bengals held at Paul Brown Stadium (grades 1-8) and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden (grades 9-12).

2010-2011 Poster Image Students at Taft Elementary showed the greatest improvement, 192 percent, in the number of students who earned the A Honor Roll when comparing 2009-10 results against 2010-11 data. Additionally Sayler Park was recognized for having the greatest increase, 170 percent, among the district's K-8 schools. Pleasant Ridge Montessori saw the greatest increase, 67.1 percent, among the district's K-6 schools.

Overall, more than 4,500 students in grades 1-12 qualified to attend special events with Coach Marvin Lewis and members of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Taft Elementary will receive a gift card to Best Buy valued at $2,500. Congratulations to the students and staff at all three schools for a job well done!
