Good News from SCPA – Artistic Accomplishments

The School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) is proud to recognize several outstanding students for their artistic accomplishments:

Ellen E., an 11th-grader, was recently selected as a finalist in the English Speaking Union Shakespeare Competition, held at Cincinnati's Playhouse in the Park.

Abigail M., a senior drama major, was selected as the stage manager for the Know Theater's upcoming production of The Afghan Women's Writing Project.

Kudos to Paloma I., a senior visual arts major, for winning the 2012 Cincinnati Arts Association Overture Awards Competition in the area of visual art. She will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Julia B., a senior technical theater major, has been accepted into the prestigious School of Theater Design and Technology Program at Carnegie Mellon University.

Ryan D., a senior instrumental music major, was selected to this year's Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State Orchestra. In addition, the following students received the top honor of a superior rating at the OMEA District Solo and Ensemble Festival: Lee G. (cello), Jade K. (cello), Rusty H. (cello), Ryan D. (cello), Gabe S. (violin), Maya S. (violin), Samantha S. (violin), David K. (violin), Jack B. (violin) and Claire F. (violin).
