Two Walnut Hills Students Earn $20,000 from Marvin Lewis Community Fund

Congratulations to Ishmael Carter and Emily Roemhild, new graduates of Walnut Hills High School, for earning scholarships from the Marvin Lewis Community Fund worth $20,000 each. The Marvin Lewis Scholarship Fund was created to recognize and honor outstanding male and female student athletes from the Cincinnati region on an annual basis.

Candidates are evaluated based on a 1,000-word essay, established criteria of a minimum 2.75 grade point average, financial need, proven commitment to the community and a varsity letter in any sport. Ishmael lettered in basketball, while Emily lettered in soccer.

Ishmael will attend the University of Arizona this fall, and will major in computer science. Emily will attend Miami University and pursue a degree in psychology.
