Parker Woods to Dedicate Bench Made to Honor Former Teacher

004Parker Woods Montessori is set to dedicate a bench created to honor former teacher Jennifer Koster, who led the creation of outdoor learning spaces to help bring classroom concepts to life. The dedication takes place Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the school, located at 4370 Beech Hill Lane in Northside (45223).

Ms. Koster passed away in 2012, but not before impacting the lives of countless students, parents and staff. She was integral in the purchase and preparation of outside pots for planting, ran the Scholastic Book Fair for several years, worked as a substitute teacher, and was a member of both the Local School Decision-Making Committee (LSDMC) and School Design Team. Ms. Koster even helped to determine the color scheme of the building, as well as design a circular garden outside of the school.

The bench in Ms. Koster's honor was designed and created by local metal artist Kate Demske.
