Cincinnati Public Schools and community partner Reds Community Fund teamed up for the 99th Annual Findlay Market Parade celebrating the start of the new Cincinnati Reds season on Monday, April 2, 2018.
Students from Roberts Paideia Academy and LEAP (Language Enrichment and Academic Proficiency) Academy marched alongside other area students who participate in the Reds Community Fund’s programs like First at Bat and RBI.
CPS Superintendent Laura Mitchell joined Owen Wrassman, President of the Reds Community Fund, Charley Frank, Executive Director of the Reds Community Fund, CPS students and Mr. Redlegs himself in the festivities.
For those who were watching the parade, you may have seen some familiar CPS names and faces in the parade lineup, including:
- Aiken High School’s award-winning marching band
- School for Creative and Performing Arts’ (SCPA) cheer squad
- Western Hills High School and Gilbert A. Dater High School marching band
