Schools from all over Cincinnati met at Burnet Woods to race in Cincinnati Public Schools’ first cross country meet. Parents and teachers alike looked on as students tightened their laces, got on their marks and prepared to make history.
Coming in first place for both boys and girls was North Avondale Montessori School, whose runners Braden M. and Calla K. were first to cross the finish line for their respective groups.
This was just the first year for what could be a recurring meet among CPS schools. While there could be only one winner, every school that competed made history.
