The online lottery to assign students to Cincinnati Public Schools’ high schools opens at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
The lottery will assign high school seats for the 2020-21 school year.
Round 1 of the High School Lottery runs January 7 to February 21, 2020. All applications entered during Round 1 will enter a computerized random lottery, with each having equal opportunity to enter first-choice high schools no matter when during Round 1 the application is entered.
There’s no need to be “first in line” for Round 1; however, it is important to enter lottery applications during Round 1. Round 2 (March 10 – April 3, 2020) and Round 3 (April 28 – May 8, 2020) are for applications not entered in Round 1, and some high schools fill up during Round 1.
CPS students in grades 6, 7 or 8 may submit lottery applications using any computer with Internet access. Parents or guardians of these CPS students also may enter lottery applications, but a student may be entered into the lottery only once.
There are two ways to reach the High School Lottery Application portal:
See the 2020-21 High School Guide for details about CPS high schools, how to submit online lottery applications and how non-CPS students can apply.
