A delightfully noisy car parade made its way through the Covedale neighborhood on April 3 as the Covedale School staff greeted students in a “honk and wave.”
Children and families were encouraged to step outside around 11 a.m. and wave back as cars with teachers and staff drove slowly past, waving signs, shouting hellos and honking horns.
The parade was part of Virtual Spirit Week, which encourages Cincinnati Public Schools’ students and families to show off their team spirit despite the mandated school closure.
“Remember, as much as we would love to hug each of you, this will be a drive-by, honk and wave, to be good citizens and maintain social distancing,” Covedale staff told students.
