Zoo Academy Students Selected to Create Videos for Krohn Conservatory Web Site

Five seniors from the Zoo Academy — one of the STEM programs at Hughes High School — have been selected to produce videos about some of the more than 3,500 plant species found at Krohn Conservatory. The students were selected after presenting class projects where they used original digital photography and researched information to create informative, 30-second videos about one of the plant species maintained on the grounds of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. The students received MP4 players by Russ Hardesty of The Primax Group. In addition, The Primax Group will offer the students a $300 scholarship for completing additional movies for Krohn Conservatory. This collaboration between the Zoo Academy and Krohn Conservatory began last year when three students produced a total of 16 videos that were used as the foundation for the new Krohn Conservatory Web site. Congratulations to Devonte Blunt, Sarah Flannery, Charles Lampson, Jessica Hickman and Mykiale White. And, check out a few of the winning videos…
